Chromebooks are finally getting a solid video editing option, thanks to this new initiative from Adobe called Project Rush. Adobe unveiled the Project Rush during this year’s VidCon, held between June 20-23 in California, US. Details are still a little scant, but early signs suggest it to be an insanely encouraging project.

Project Rush by Adobe

Project Rush is a new all-in-one, cross-platform video editing app by Adobe. It combines advance features from Adobe Creative Cloud apps like Premiere Pro, Audition and After Effects into one single easy-to-use application. This integrated desktop and mobile solution automatically syncs all your projects to the cloud, allowing you to start a project on one device and pick up from where you left off on another. Adobe Stock integration and editable Motion Graphics templates further gives users endless ways to customize projects.

Project Rush will run seamlessly on all flagship devices across platforms. And when Adobe says across platforms, they mean it. Project Rush will utilize the same features, tools and abilities across all major platforms – Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. Chromebooks capable of running Android apps will also be able to run Project Rush easily. So if you start a project on your iPhone and decide to finish up on your Chromebook, you’ll be able to do so hassle-free. It will all be synced up and waiting for you.

Adobe seems to be really pushing Project Rush towards content creators on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram (IGTV to be precise), and they are about to be in for a big treat for sure.

There’s still no word on when Adobe will publicly launch Project Rush, or how much it’ll cost. However, you can sign up for the early beta release if you wish to be among the first to use it. Sooner or later, the ability to create high-quality video on a Chromebook is finally within reach now. It will for sure vanish one of the biggest stumbling blocks to Chromebook adoption.
