Just when we were getting over the excitement of the Tizen based Samsung NX30, we now have a new addition to the NX Smart camera range, the Samsung NX3000, with the promise of high quality images, capturing life moments in stunning detail with ease and pleasure. We initially heard of the NX3000 in mid April this year.
So, as this is a huge model number increase over the NX300M, you would expect the specifications to be far superior? Yes? Well actually NO!
The NX3000 has the same 20.3MP APS-C CMOS Sensor that is found in the NX300M, 1/4000 shutter speed, 16-50mm Power Zoom ED OIS f/3.5-5.6,5fps continuous shooting,3.0 Flip display (320×480) non touch enabled screen, Tag & Go, WiFi NFC, Available in White, Black and Brown and can charge over Micro USB.
Looking at a comparison to the Samsung NX300M, It shares the same form factor, but the battery has been bumped up from 1,130 to 2,330 mAh. The screen is now a 3″ 320×480 compared to a 3.3″ AMOLED 800×400, and it appears to be non-touch. Shutter speed has also taken a hit from 1/6000 sec to 1/4000.
With the above changes, the Samsung NX3000 is still a potentially great compact systems camera, but could possibly aim at a cheaper price point, but we will have to wait as pricing information has not been released yet.
