Qt Stand at MWC 2011

Nokia today further strengthened its Qt offering by officially launching Qt Quick and releasing updates to other Qt product family members. Since the Feb 11th announcement of Nokia Choosing MicroSoft Platform for Smartphones, this Nokia move confirms Qt as not being dead with the following releases / Updates:

  • Qt Quick launched – Used for rapid creation of User Interfaces and applications for any Qt platform ideally for developers who prefer scripting languages such as JavaScript over the C++ of ‘traditional’ Qt.
  • Qt SDK 1.1 beta released – A merged SDK that will eventually replace the Nokia Qt SDK (mobile) and the Qt SDK (desktop and embedded).
  • Released today – Qt 4.7.2, Qt Creator 2.1, Qt Mobility 1.1.1 – Three key releases underpin today’s Qt Quick launch.
